ALL IS WELL

SCRIPTURE:   Psalm 139:5  …Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.

REFLECTION: Many years ago, while pregnant, I was diagnosed with a very serious illness called diabetes. Usually diabetes goes away after the baby is born. In my case, it did not.

With diabetes, your body stops producing a drug called Insulin. Insulin maintains the sugar in your body at an acceptable level. A too high or too low sugar level requires medication, in pill form or a shot, to bring the sugar back to its normal level.

Being diabetic demand’s life adjustments to stay healthy. These adjustments included eating a well-balanced diet and exercising. Perhaps the worst adjustment for me was not being able to fulfill my daughter’s extra-curricular needs and wants, like bike riding and swimming together.

My sugar levels are very difficult to control. Other medical problems, like dehydration, resulted in multiple hospitalizations. Recently, major sugar to correct another medical problem enabled me to reclaim the biking, swimming and walks I had given up over the years.

At last, my daughter has her mother back.

     All is finally well.
