CRITIQUE GROUP NORTH: The piece that you bring to the meeting can be of any length and at any stage of writing: from the first rough draft to a manuscript that is almost ready for publication. WRITERS IN PROGRESS WORKSHOP (Somerset, PA):

Although the Writers in Progress group is no longer an affiliate of Laurel Arts, they are still planning to host Edgar Allan Poe Night in October. Currently, they are looking for a new venue, and would like suggestions. 

Leader Barbara Purbaugh can be can be reached on her cell phone only, 814-279-8037. She is no longer accepting new clients for her editing business. However, she might accept someone if “something juicy” is presented, and she will help with referrals, 

Finally, Barbara has over 103 pages of a werewolf story she is working on. “I am in love, love, love, with writing again,” she said. She is ready to share her works, and expects to hear about “all the fabulous things” other writers are producing.

WESTMORELAND PHOTOGRAPHERS: Its mission is to promote an interest in the art and science of photography. Members are encouraged to participate in exhibits and to share their collective experience and diverse knowledge. Meets monthly the second Monday in the Prep Room 215, above the library, on the St. Vincent College Campus, Latrobe, PA. Meetings alternate between speakers and photograph critiques.
