(Forward this newsletter to the writers you know!)

BEANERY ONLINE LITERARY MAGAZINE CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
The BOLM (www.beanerywriters.wordpress.com) accepts submissions (in any genre) from guest writers. Items may be edited, but if there are any significant changes your work will be returned to you for your approval.. Submit your post to beaneryblog@yahoo.com with the word “Submission” in the subject line.

REINSTATEMENT OF THE NEWSLETTER
As facilitator of the Beanery Writers Group, and editor of this newsletter, I must extend an apology to our subscribers for what must appear an abandonment of this project. It has not been abandoned—it has merely been set aside due to circumstances, which are explained in “JOURNAL” posts on my personal writing site: www.carolyncholland.wordpress.com : www.carolyncholland.wordpress.com : THE WRITING LIFE: There’s a World Out There? & THE WRITING LIFE CONTINUES & REFLECTING ON MY WRITING LIFE IN 2008
I assure you that the newsletter will continue on a regular basis as I catch up on my backlog of writing in January. I want to thank the regular readers of the BOLM and my site for bearing with me during my time of unexpected overextension.

BEANERY WRITERS GROUP
The Beanery Writers Group enters its fourth year soon. Meeting information is listed below. I am really pleased that we are beginning to receive outside submissions, which have come from Missouri, Florida, and even from Chile (although the writer is a student in Florida). I am also pleased with our accomplishments this past year. In addition to our regular activities of mutual support, critique and offering advice/hints to occasional members, we held our first poetry/prose/music reading and produced a booklet commemorating the 250th anniversary of Ligonier Valley, available at Second Chapter Bookstore on East Main St., Ligonier. The 100 copies we had printed were financed through a fundraiser enabled by our long-distance member, Jane. She rescued a number of collectible and less collectible Beanies, which were adopted out for a donation. Member Lois commented: If I were rich I’d buy them all. They are so cute.
And some are still available for adoption! See Punxsutawney Phil: http://www.flickr.com/photos/beaneryonlineliterarymagazine/2493962362/

CAROLYN C. HOLLAND completed and submitted an article to a New England historical journal competition. It took five years to complete the article profiling a female French émigré escaping the French Revolution, a woman who became an independent land speculator (settler) in Maine. Stay tuned for the results!
