While sorting through my books and photographs, I came across a copy of Norma’s book, which read a number of years ago. It is signed “When one becomes too old to set a bad example, it’s time to give advice.”

Norma was the organist at Jamestown (and State Line) United Methodist Churches when my husband, Monte, was pastor there. She is her own person, unique and wonderful. She also helped me move into writing for the Greenville Record Argus, since she was ready to release most of her reporting there. I still remember her advice: IF YOU CAN SAY IN ONE WORD WHAT YOU SAID IN TEN WORDS, DO IT!

When I contacted her for permission to post several excerpts on the Beanery Online Literary Magazine, she informed me that her birthday was in two days, March 12. This ball of energy will be 82 in 2008.

Norma published For God’s Sake through 1st Books Library, the International Online Library, in 2001. She still has copies she is willing to sell at $12 each.

Norma also is known for her miniature dollhouse shop, Leary’s Dollhouse Connection. Located at 517 Liberty Street (Rt. 58) in Jamestown, Pennsylvania, it’s stocked with interesting, original and creative dollhouse furnishings that one must see to appreciate. Click on to view photographs of some of her creations.

To order a copy of her book or for more information on Leary’s Dollhouse Connection write to Norma at P. O. Box 156, or stop by her shop, where you not only can see her creations, but you can have the delightful experience of meeting this ball of energy.
