TO FEEL SAFE
The Photodoctor
we lock doors
we buy alarms
we buy guns
we carry lucky stones
we wear amulets
we buy crosses
in the past
we sprinkled salt
we burnt candles
we wore garlic
all we’ve ever wanted
is too feel safe
what does a mother do?
she holds loved ones tight
wrapping her arms around them
giving her love as protection
with all we done to keep safe
why can’t we hold tight
our loved one
our good friends
our neighbors
and offer up close protection?
makes sense
have we forgot
that is all we did
in the small town I grew up in
have we forgotten?
there is that rule
love thy neighbor….
my friends it’s that easy
