—written by Kathleen
Focused on the problem
overwhelmed, praying, trying,
backed against the wall…
Then…lifting up my head, I focused
on the face of Jesus
suspended in agony
Clearly I could see
His sacrifice upon the tree,
the carpenter’s hands nailed securely
blood and sweat dripping
from His outstretched arms.
Then miraculously, His right hand broke free
spiritually extended toward me.
Our gazes met, held briefly
sorrow meeting sorrow
compassion, empathy
encompassing eternity…
Wordlessly
I knew help was on the way
knew He understood my problems, pain
knew the grains of hope were taking h old.
Deep within my spirit, knowledge dawned
this horrible time
will someday be a memory…
Patience, Trust, Faith
I’ve been told
have their rewards.
